Great British Businesswoman Awards

Celebrating the Achievements of Women in Business on International Women's Day

As we commemorate International Women's Day, it is our privilege at the Great British Businesswoman Awards to honour the remarkable accomplishments of women in business across the United Kingdom.

Today, we shine a light on the achievements of women who overcome countless challenges and difficulties, break down barriers, and shape industries.

The Great British Businesswoman Series isn't just about accolades and trophies; it's a movement that champions and supports women in business the whole year round.

In a world where only a small percentage of top CEOs are women, our mission is more vital than ever. We're here to empower women, and create a level playing field where everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to reach new heights.

As we reflect on International Women's Day, let's continue to showcase women in business. Together, we can drive meaningful change, build more inclusive workplaces, and realise a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

To all the women who pursue their ambitions, defy expectations, and lead with courage: today, we celebrate you. Your achievements fuel our collective progress, and your impact knows no bounds.

Great British Businesswoman Awards Founder, Niki Dowdall said:

As the Founder of the Great British Businesswomen Awards and the Managing Director of GRC World Forums, I am proud to celebrate International Women's Day by shouting about the remarkable achievements and contributions women make to the business world.

It acts as a reminder of the progress we've made so far and the journey that lies ahead in ensuring gender equality and empowerment in all aspects of life, particularly in the corporate landscape.

The Great British Businesswomen Awards was created in 2021 with a vision to recognise, honour and celebrate the outstanding achievements of women across diverse industries, from entrepreneurship to corporate leadership.

It serves as a platform to showcase the talent, resilience, and innovation demonstrated by women who are breaking new ground and making significant strides in their respective fields.

At GRC World Forums, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where women grow and excel. We recognise the immense value that women bring to the table, not only in terms of their expertise and skills but also their unique perspectives and insights.

By championing gender diversity and actively promoting the advancement of women in governance, risk management, and compliance, we are driving positive change and paving the way for a more equitable and prosperous future.

Working alongside great women has been an enriching experience. I have had the privilege of collaborating with trailblazers who have demonstrated unparalleled leadership, resilience, and vision. They serve as role models and mentors for future generations of women to follow in their footsteps.

Happy International Women's Day!

The next Great British Businesswoman Awards event takes place on 30 January 2025.
